Rewiring our brain

It’s not a matter of “powering through it”. It’s a matter of training your brain to genuinely love it. Then it becomes easy. Whatever it is- waking up early, eating healthy, releasing anxiety, finding stillness. The hardest part is choosing to think differently and training your brain to work different than it always has.

This morning I didn’t want to get out of bed after my 2 year old was tossing and turning all night. But I remembered the feeling I get when I finally reach “my spot” at the top of this little mountain in our backyard. It’s full of the peace and the release I need. It’s the place that feels still above a moving city, and a place I go to meet with God. I almost missed it this morning. I’m glad my bed didn’t win me over and the day feels that much sweeter already.
